Many people were surprised to see Outcast – Second Contact launch in 2017. This was a remake of an iconic sci-fi adventure video game and an update for the modern age. S in the future. Although no release date has been announced, the short glimpses shown behind closed doors suggest that Outcast 2 could prove to be an amazing sci-fi adventure.

Outcast 2 will again place players in the role of Cutter Slade (a surprisingly familiar name). He was a character who tried to return to Earth after saving Aldepha’s world. Cutter was lost to time for 20 years after the portal failed. This is just like the Outcast series. The planet of Adelpha will now have to deal with a group of hostile robot dudes who want to cause trouble for everyone when he returns. It’s not fun.

Outcast 2 is a project that has been in development for over 20 years. The original Outcast was produced at Infogrames before the studio collapsed. The series was forgotten about after the end, but Outcast 2 is now in full swing thanks to the success of the remade edition. Even better, the sequel is being developed by 10 of the original team members, including the art director and original game and the composer. This was just a few months after Second Contact.

Some in-game footage was shown during the showcase. It is remarkable considering that it was taken from a pre-alpha build two weeks before the showcase. The open-world looks amazing, with lots of beautiful, vibrant jungles and ancient ruins. Although not as much was shown, the actual gunplay appears to be okay. Mass Effect was mentioned as an example, and it proved to be, with third-person cover shooting confirmed and all abilities.

Access and THQ Nordic wanted to emphasize that the story and gameplay are meant to be enjoyed by both novice and experienced players. Features such as exploration and the nonlinear narrative are still at the core of the game’s design. The developers want to create a sci-fi world that you would love to visit or live in. The world of sci-fi is often dark and gritty. Developers want something lighter.

It feels very much like it was made at the same time as the original Outcast, but maybe that’s because I can’t get over Cutter Slade’s name and the fact that he’s a swaggering wisecracker. It’s silly. Outcast 2: A New Beginning could live up to the franchise’s amazing history. In the future, Outcast 2 will be available on PC and consoles.
