ICYMI: This is Everything That Was Shown at PlayStation’s New Indie Showcase
Sony released a few updates on indie games that will soon be available for PlayStation platforms, as it does often. These are regular drip-feeds that are posted to the PlayStation blog in order to highlight smaller games that may not be on your radar. Given the popularity of some of these games, it’s surprising they didn’t get their own announcement. These showcases draw more attention than your average PlayStation Blog post, but I’m not surprised. Here’s a recap if you missed the live showcases:
Sea of Stars
Sea of Stars is coming to PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 in 2023. Sabotage Studio has revealed more details about the “retro-inspired game” for consoles. This trailer shows off some amazing animation and sprite work. It’s one thing to look at a retro RPG in screenshots, and then it kind of ignores it. But seeing Sea of Stars in action? This could be a game-changer for me.
SCHiM
was one of the games that were shown at the Day of the Devs showcase. Developer Ewoud van den Werf and Extra Nice confirmed the game will be coming to PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5. Fanbyte Features Editor described the game’s ability to let you leap from one area of darkness to another by using shadows. SCHiM will launch on PlayStation next.
