Battlefield 2042 Open Beta: Dates and details for the Next Week

Battlefield 2042’s beta has a date and a detailed breakdown of what you can expect when the test runs go live next month, from October 6 through October 9. Only those who pre-ordered Battlefield 2042 will have access to the beta for the first two days. Then, the public will be able to participate in the final two days.

DICE has released a FAQ about the beta. However, the general idea is that it will be available across all platforms (PC and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One), and you don’t need PlayStation Plus to play on PS4 or 5, but you will need Xbox Live Gold on Xbox platforms. The only problem is that the progress made in the beta will not transfer to the main game, which launches on November 19.

Battlefield 2042’s Open Beta will feature four playable specialists: Webster Mackay (Mari Falck), Pytor Gustkovsky (Pytor”) Gustkovsky, and Wikus Van Daele (Casper). These four players can be divided into two modes, Orbital and Conquest. Conquest is the traditional Battlefield sandbox experience. Orbital focuses on the map conditions Battlefield has been showcasing ever since its unveiling. You will need to fight within close proximity to a rocket launch to deal with the chaos it entails.

Battlefield2042 will be released on two generations, but EA has confirmed that both DICE and EA will use two different player pools to allow online play. Crossplay compatibility is available between Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players won’t be able to play together. This is a larger player base than Xbox Series and PS5 players, but it’s still more than what the Xbox Series and PS5 have.
