Ash’s original voice actor returns to Pokemon for Deep Dive Audiobook
It has been 17 years since Veronica Taylor played Ash Ketchum in the Pokemon anime. But, for many older fans, that performance is still ingrained in their heads. This is not a criticism of Sarah Natochenny, who assumed the English role in 2005.
However, when you hear one voice for many years, it tends to stay with you. Taylor, however, has put her Ash voice to use on online videos here and there. This has allowed Taylor to stay with the franchise despite not being the main character. This is now being extended to an audiobook about Pokemon’simpact. It has been announced that Taylor will read Monster Kids How Pokemon Taught A Generation to Catch Them All.

Daniel Dockery announced that Taylor would contribute her vocal talents to the aaudiobook’slaunch on October 4. The online site of Publisher Running Press for the book states that the book is “n in-depth view of the ffranchise’smany branches and influence” and includes interviews about how it evolved from a pair of Game Boy RPGs to the global phenomenon it is today.
Audiobooks have become my favorite way to read books. I love that I can listen to audiobooks while reading other books. I can enjoy the voice acting, and it has allowed me to hear a book I wwouldn’tnormally be able to get around to. Perhaps October will bring back memories, and I’ll want to hear Ash Ketchum talk about Pokémon.
