Already Scalpers Selling Collector’s Editions of ‘God of War Ragnarok” for Huge Profits
The God of War Ragnarok collector’s editions were just released a few hours ago. However, scalpers have already relisted their purchases at absurdly high prices.
It’s been confirmed that God of War Ragnarok will release on November 9th. Fans can pre-order the game, which includes the Jotnar Edition as well as the Collector’s Edition. They are already selling for three times their retail price. Sigh.
The Jotnar edition sold out quickly around the globe. Fans clamoured for a 16-inch replica of Mjolnir. The Jotnar Edition was $400 (AUD) in Australia. Press Start reported that copies were listed on eBay for $1500 within minutes of pre-orders going live.
The Jotnar Edition was available in the UK for PS230. It sold out in 15 minutes. PlayStation UK tweeted to inform that pre-orders were live at GAME. This was a link to the site where both editions were already sold out. Jotnar Editions are available for as high as PS550 if you do a quick search on eBay UK.
Even more surprising is the fact that at least six UK scalpers appear to have succeeded in their mission. There are Jotnar Editions for sale on eBay’s sold section, priced between PS390 – PS600.
You are lucky if you were able to obtain a copy, and one you intend to keep. It’s still a bit strange that an edition this high quality doesn’t come with a physical copy, but it does come with a steelbook to store the disc. This one is not justified.
