“Aliens” is a new single-player horror film that will be released soon.
As if you didn’t already have enough horror, with the likes of the Quarry and life in general, it has been confirmed that a new Alien video game is in the works. It sounds great!
The official Alien Twitter account revealed the title entirely out of the blue. It’s not Alien: Dark Descent, as was previously announced at Summer Game Fest. The new single-player experience will be available on multiple platforms (primarily unannounced) shortly.
“No one can hear what you scream…in outer space.” They wrote that the new single-player, horror Aliens game from Survios is an original storyline that combines the Alien and Aliens movies. Stay tuned for more information about this console, PC, and VR title.
We are fortunate that Survios’ website has more details. According to the story, it will be about a “victim of war” and “a veteran who has a vendetta against Xenomorphs”. It’s been revealed that the game will be developed in the new Unreal Engine 5 (much as the upcoming Witcher title). If there’s one thing we know about Unreal Engine 5, that’s that Unreal Engine 5 games look good. We’re likely in for a visually stunning, horror-filled experience.
Survios has a history of VR work. They published The Walking Dead onslaught,, Battlewake strategy game,, and Sprint Vector multiplayer platformer. All of these require that players don headsets and get out of the natural world for a while. It seems that VR could be a significant focus. And with PlayStation’sVR2 coming soon they will need more games to make it profitable.
This is only if the game launches on PlayStation. However, “console” could be any other meaning. It’s unclear when this one will be released, but it’s likely to be a while off.
